Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how CCP Counselling collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: July 2026Introduction
CCP Counselling ('we', 'us', 'our') is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services or visit our website.
What Information We Collect
We collect personal information that is necessary to provide counselling services and manage our practice. This may include: your full name, contact details (email address, phone number, postal address), date of birth, emergency contact details, health and medical information relevant to your counselling, session notes and clinical records, payment and billing information, and information you provide through our website contact form or booking system.
How We Collect Your Information
We collect your personal information directly from you — through our website contact form, during the intake process before your first session, during counselling sessions, and through any written correspondence. We do not collect personal information from third parties without your knowledge and consent, except in circumstances required by law.
How We Use Your Information
Your personal information is used to: provide counselling and related services to you; communicate with you about appointments, session notes, and your care; maintain accurate clinical records as required by professional standards; process payments; comply with our legal and professional obligations; and improve our services. We do not use your personal information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances: with your written consent; when required by law (e.g. court subpoena, mandatory reporting obligations); in clinical supervision, where your counsellor discusses your case with their supervisor — no identifying information is shared; in a medical emergency where disclosure is necessary to protect your life or the life of another person; and with professional indemnity insurers or legal advisers when necessary to defend a complaint or legal claim.
Storage & Security of Your Information
We take the security of your personal information seriously. Your information is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. Clinical records are retained for a minimum of seven years from the date of your last session (or until a minor client turns 25), in accordance with Australian professional standards. After this period, records are securely destroyed. Our website uses HTTPS encryption to protect data transmitted through our contact form.
Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information; and withdraw consent for us to use your information (subject to our legal and professional obligations). To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form on our website.
Cookies & Website Analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience and understand how visitors use our site. You can control cookie settings through your browser. We do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information without your consent.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
